Geneva — Five UN independent mandate holders have strongly demanded China to provide “prompt and detailed information” on the whereabouts of Tibet’s 11th Panchen Lama Gedhun Choekyi Nyima and have endorsed the “CRC’s (Committee on the Rights of the Child) recommendation to allow an independent monitor to visit him to confirm his whereabouts and the extent to which he is able to enjoy and exercise his rights” in their latest communication to China made public recently.
Taipei — The newly formed Taiwan Parliament Group for Tibet said Wednesday that they will continue to support Tibetan cause and they urge the government of Taiwan to make a clear statement in support of a visit by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the 1989 Nobel Peace laureate without any restriction from China.
Dharamshala, India — Tibetan spiritual and political leaders, including His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, President of the Tibetan government in-Exile Dr Lobsang Sangay and Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile Pema Jungney offered words of condolence for former Taiwan President Lee Teng-hui who died at age 97, praising him for his support for Tibet.
New York— A large number of Indian Americans organised a protest demonstration against China at the iconic Times Square on July 03, 2020. They were also joined by members of the Tibetan Community and Taiwanese Americans and supporters. At the beginning of the protest, a Tibetan Monk led a Buddhist prayer to pay tribute to the courage of the Indian soldiers and offer our condolences to the bereaved families.
